"So I have an idea in my head", you might be thinking

Updated: Aug 23, 2022

A little explanation on the process for specific custom commission work that is an idea or vision of the client. First of all I listen/or read my clients ideas, I try to get a feeling for their idea, what it means to them, how it makes them feel, why it's important to them. I look at examples of certain aspects of their vision they might provide...eg. "she is sitting like this, but more profile" as they forward a photo to illustrate, or I might send a photo or two back asking "like this?" I ask many questions and then many more. For example for a tattoo design, tell me more about you, let's make it personal to you...what do you like?, what are your hobbies?, what is important in your life? What colours? Then when I think I have a good starting point I make rough sketches and forward to my client for feedback. Then if I'm on the right track, we discuss what stays, what has the right feel, mood, colour etc. we then discuss more subtle changes...move that over, this smaller, shift the angle, eliminate this for that etc. This process can take anywhere from a few messages back and forth to days or longer, which is totally acceptable because I want to create and reflect your ideas, your vision for you! Here are links to some of Nicole's visions I created and rendered in graphite pencil for her. https://www.instagram.com/p/CfU-B22jdyd/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

Also here is the tattoo for Uterine cancer awareness for another client.

If you have a vision/idea you would like to commission me to create for you, please don't hesitate to contact me. Be prepared for questions as I figure it out both in my head and on paper and I will do my best to listen and make it as easy for you as I can.

ADDENDUM: Nicole has added an explanation of her third vision that I illustrated for her. You can access her Instagram post here. https://www.instagram.com/p/ChmsnwzrIe3/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
